Misa Matsui vs. Natsuki
This was an amazing match! Not only are they both well-skilled wrestlers, but their ability to convey emotion is top-notch. It's not just about executing moves, but about timing, structure, bumps, and the expression of emotion. There was a sense of behind "purpose" each move. The sudden, technical finishing sequence ended the match perfectly. Misa Matsui continues to shine in singles competition, but Natsuki was also impressive! I have to say, I'm enjoying this new AWG more than the previous iteration. The unit system makes the relationships and interactions between the wrestlers more exciting and creates a sense of meaning in the matches. They've also ditched that old-school joshi style from Yumiko Hotta and SAKI and gone for a sort of junior mix of various styles, almost like the men's wrestling. But with the emotional side that makes women's wrestling so special. ****1/4
