Mika Iwata vs. Takumi Iroha
Takumi Iroha, who admittedly isn't always on my radar, impressed me with her performance in this match. In the early parts, Iroha subdued her opponent with limb-attacks and submissions. I've never seen her work such a delicate and careful style. The opening, with low kicks and evasive moves, evoked the UWF. In fact, the entire bout felt like a display of U-style artistry, emphasizing joint and kicking techniques. Meanwhile, Iwata's style has evolved beyond the confines of a "one-dimensional kick-wrestler". She has incorporated a mix of submissions, hand strikes, a killer piledriver finisher, and an array of angles to attack from. The highlight was the impressive superplex where Iwata executed a jump during the suplex, causing Iroha to crash down to the mat at a unique angle. ****
