TJPW - All Rise '22 (11/27/2022)

4. Mizuki vs. Arisu Endo

Arisu Endo has a small body but is pushing herself beyond her physical limitations in a good way. I was impressed by some of the moves she performed here, such as the "hop-up dropkick" to Mizuki who was on the top turnbuckle. Mizuki performed well from start to finish, weathering the storm with effective use of diving foot stomps and submissions. ***3/4

6. EVE Championship: Miyu Yamashita (c) vs. Millie McKenzie

This was different from their match in Barcelona, with Millie McKenzie working a more aggressive style and having a heel-like atmosphere. She dominated much of the early portions. It is not often that Miyu Yamashita is so physically well-matched in the Tokyo Joshi ring. A hard-nosed, physical match that was atypical of Tokyo Joshi's usual style of match. ***3/4

8. Princess of Princess Championship: Yuka Sakazaki (c) vs. Billie Starkz

Billie Starkz no doubt has boundless potential, which she demonstrated in this match. She wrestled well other than a few miscues. But the match as a whole was lacking something to make it exciting. In the first place, the champion-challenger dynamic was not interesting to me. It's a big chance for Billie, sure, but she is a foreign outsider who may or may not appear in the promotion again. The story of the match isn't about her, but rather how the champion will defend against this new, unknown threat and I don't think Billie was presented well as a threat. ***
