Stardom - Hiroshima Goddess Festival (11/3/2022)

7. Wonder of Stardom Championship: Saya Kamitani (c) vs. Mina Shirakawa

I never imagined Mina Shirakawa would become such a soul-stirring performer. Her love and dedication for pro-wrestling could be felt during and after the match. Finish execution aside, Kamitani performed like a champion should, taking on her opponent's best and then topping that. No one wants to see an injury, but had it ended normally I wonder if it would have been so impactful. I think the way it turned out will add more depth and dimension to Kamitani and Shirakawa's careers and future encounters. ****

8. World of Stardom Championship: Syuri (c) vs. Maika

This was a tremendous main event. Syuri and Maika were in a tough spot after the finish of the previous match left a bad aftertaste, but they were able to have a well-structured main event with good technique and emotion. It felt like there was a real effort from both to show something different than usual, while not straying far from their signature hard-nosed styles. Maika in particular gave her strongest big singles performance yet. Her expressions, timing, explosiveness were all on point. ****1/4
