Stardom - STARDOM in SHOWCASE Vol. 2 (9/25/2022)

2. Blue Stars: Starlight Kid vs. Suzu Suzuki

Starlight Kid and Suzu Suzuki seem to be the closest you could get to the Hiromu/Desperado dynamic in women's wrestling. The similarity in body shape and style and their bold personalities and visuals made for a mesmerizing combination. This was full of high-level exchanges backed by one-upmanship and mind games. ****

3. Falls Count Anywhere: Mayu Iwatani vs. AZM vs. Ram Kaichow vs. Maika

I came into this fully expecting it to be a walk and brawl borefest like the DDT falls count anywhere matches, but it was surprisingly entertaining. The key is they generally kept the action moving forward and didn't take forever to set up spots. There was solid wrestling to be found underneath the comedy and lots of visual variety. ****

5. Hardcore Match: Giulia & Rina Yamashita vs. Momo Watanabe & Ruaka

Lack of any risk aversion from league block leader Giulia was something else. She took a freezer bomb from Ruaka through a table and the brunt of some high-impact weapon shots. Like the falls count anywhere match, the key here was they kept the action moving, transitioning into the spots with no delay.  ***3/4
