Stardom - 5STAR Grand Prix 2022 (9/12/2022)

2. Blue Stars: Mina Shirakawa vs. Ami Sohrei

Mina showed a glimpse of what she can do with a figure-four leglock in her match against Giulia, and in this match she was fully focused on working the leg, finding a variety of angles to attack from. Sohrei did a swell job of looking strong yet vulnerable to leg attacks. ***3/4

4. Blue Stars: Hazuki vs. Saya Iida

This was a fantastic sprint style match. High paced, dynamic back and forth action where everything segued smoothly and there was hardly any down time. ***1/2

8. Red Stars: Tam Nakano vs. Unagi Sayaka

Slow paced emotional slugfest with an unsettling atmosphere, the type of match unique to Tam Nakano. Unagi has become physically bigger in a good way, and she matched Tam's emotion well. I think it was her best performance of the tournament so far. It feels like she has stagnated lately, but I think if she continues working hard and learning she can make another breakthrough. ***3/4

9. Blue Stars: Mayu Iwatani vs. Suzu Suzuki

The fact that Suzu Suzuki has been entrusted with the main event of Korakuen Hall twice in this tournament is a testament to her ability and the promotion's expectations of her. Suzu kept on the offensive pressure until the very end, even as Mayu made her zombie-like comebacks. ***1/2
