6. Blue Stars: Giulia vs. Mina Shirakawa
I always enjoy Giulia and Shirakawa's chemistry. Both are charismatic wrestlers with heavy hitting movesets that draw inspiration from the past. This was an exciting sprint match built around classical techniques. Mina attacked the leg with a grueling figure-four, but Giulia was able to endure and accumulate one big move after another. ***1/2
7. Red Stars: Syuri vs. Maika
While I wasn't expecting big venue class performances to take place in Takamatsu, this was, simply put, a dull match. Little of note happened other than the trading of headbutts towards the end. Great to see Maika pick up a big win though.
8. Blue Stars: Mayu Iwatani vs. Saya Kamitani
It had its moments but there wasn't much to it. Mayu seems to be conserving herself for later in the tournament. She's been working short matches and seems to be doing as little as possible. I hope she's able to bring her best in Yokohama Budokan next week.
