Sareee-ism ~ Chapter 3 (1/16/2024)
Sareee vs. Chihiro Hashimoto
This was shaping up to be my favorite match between these two, but it took a turn in the latter portions. The beginning held promise with strategic grappling and inventive counter play. The simmering tension and sense of struggle between the holds was really great. Sareee's turnabout really felt earned. I was getting Choshu/Fujinami vibes. However, the latter half was marred by aimless parity wrestling, filled with relentless moves and kickouts. The unnecessary and poorly-timed outside segment, just as the action was peaking, pushed it far into excess and hindered it from reaching greater heights, IMO. Still, a strong main event nevertheless. The chemistry, especially in the initial stages, was undeniable, and for the first time Sareee's fighting spirit gimmick seemed convincing. ****
