One of Mika Iwata's best singles performances yet. She was gearing up to challenge ASUKA for the belt, and Ryo Mizunami, a pressure-cooker known for bringing out the best in her opponents, was the perfect choice to ignite Iwata's fighting spirit ahead of her title bout. Iwata's speed and precision met Mizunami explosive power, culminating in a thrilling back and forth where the two fought intensely until time ran out. As usual, Iwata's hair became more and more unruly as the match progressed, which, coupled with her wild facial expressions, made her look like some kind of war deity. She even laughed after getting right up from a lariat. An intense 15-minutes, with a standout performance from Iwata. ****1/4
