TJPW - YES! WONDERLAND 24 (5/6/2024)

Princess Tag Team Championship: Suzume & Arisu Endo (c) vs. Wakana Uehara & HIMAWARI

This was a solid semi-main event. The challenger team debuted in 2023, while the champions are 3 years in. It was a well-structured match given the experience of the competitors, and the challengers' desperation was well conveyed towards the end. The clash between compact power fighters Arisu Endo and HIMAWARI was particularly engaging. ***1/2

Princess of Princess Championship: Miu Watanabe vs. Shoko Nakajima

The early portions of the match were really exciting. Gradual fighting around hands and arms, the test of strength leading into an impressive monkey flip sequence. A focused ground sequence that you don't often see in modern pro-wrestling. Shoko Nakajima was interesting here in terms of pacing and output, showing the depth of her skills. Miu Watanabe, by comparison, seemed rather rigid and compulsory - almost Jade Cargill-like - just getting in her signature power move routine without much deviation. That snap power slam was really cool though. The finish felt like it came too easy for everything that preceded it, but the bulk of the match was compelling. ****
